The objective of the Parents Association (PA) is to advance the education of the pupils in the school, in particular by:
- Developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school;
- Engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils
SHSPA is a Registered Charity and is bound by the regulations in place for the governance of charities. It is managed by a General Committee consisting of parents. There are approximately 10 meetings a year with one meeting a quarter with the Senior Management Team in attendance. All meetings are minuted and open to inspection by members on application to the Secretary.
Committee Members are elected each year at the PA Annual General Meeting and all parents are invited to attend.
There are three permanent posts: Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary. All members are elected for a three-year term and take responsibility for running events or taking on liaison roles.
