SHSPA Prep Schools’ Camping is back! 18th-19th June 2022

After two years of enforced cancellations, preparations for our SHSPA Prep Schools’ Camping 2022 are now in full swing and we can’t wait to see you.

Tickets on sale Friday 13th May

This year the event, which will follow the same format as previous camping events, takes place on Saturday 18th-19th June 2022. Tickets will go on sale on Friday 13th May. Further information and a link to purchase tickets will be sent very soon, so please keep an eye out and make a note in your diary as ticket demand is always very high! 

Tickets will be limited due to capacity restrictions and only one parent per family will be able to purchase a ticket. 

Be sure to guarantee your camping ticket!

We have a maximum capacity of 650 people and so if you would like to guarantee tickets for you (limited to one parent per family) and your children then you can volunteer for a lead role. Every parent that attends must volunteer to help in each of the below categories when they purchase a ticket but those who volunteer now and become lead will be guaranteed tickets. It would be brilliant if some parents from the younger years also step up to ensure the event has continuity for years to come. 

Lead Roles available:

Co-Lead Catering –  organise the chefs for catering on Saturday evening and Sunday morning. This is a critical role, but don’t worry you’re not on your own – you’ll have a team to support you!

Deputies for Catering – assist the leads with catering on Saturday and Sunday.

Deputies for Activities – various fun activities are held over the weekend including a water slide, tennis, football, races and bush crafts. We need someone to organise a team of volunteers to manage these activities.

Deputies for Washing Up – organise a team to wash up the equipment after the catering on Saturday and Sunday.

Deputies for HSE – organise teams to manage first aid, parking, safety patrols, field layout and cleaning up.

Deputies for Registration – to greet the campers and get them signed in (and hand out goody bags). 

Deputy for Photography – to ensure we capture memories of the event.

This event is run totally by parent volunteers and relies on these key lead roles to be able to continue. Volunteering now for a lead role that is more about organising than doing is the only way to avoid the panic of purchasing and guaranteeing tickets on the 13th May. If you can offer help, please email as soon as possible, thank you!

The SHSPA Quiz Night – A Storming Success!

Thank you to all who came to the SHSPA “Whodunnit?” Quiz Night in March for an evening of fun and entertainment, delicious cheese and wine, as well as some mind-bending questions from our expert quiz master. The event raised an impressive £2,600 towards wish list items for our schools.

The SHSPA is now busy preparing for the next big event – Prep Schools Camping – to be held on Saturday 18th June. Tickets will go on sale early this term so please keep your eyes peeled for the details.

Wishlist suggestions – submit your ideas

The funds that are raised at PA events are used to provide luxury (non-infrastructure) items and experiences that enhance the pupil experience. Everybody is invited to submit suggestions for ‘Wishlist’ items which are presented to the Parents’ Association Committee and voted upon. Nearly New Uniform Sale – A Great Success!

Our NNUS event was a great success! It took place on Sunday 3rd October at Hinchley Wood Sports Ground and raised funds which will go towards wish list items for the schools.

Thank you to all our parents who made much-needed donations of old uniform.
